Hoyle
is essentially an intersection town about 2 minutes east of Porcupine, 18
kilometres northeast of Timmins. While
there used to be more of a community, with local farms and such, these days
it's a little small. There's a fire hall, community centre, and few houses
around on the back road short-cut to Iroquois Falls.
In the summer, there is a resident right around the main corner that sells fresh vegetables from their oversized garden - highly recommended if they're around, and if theyr'e still selling.
Hoyle is the site of the Hoyle Pond Mine, one of two remaining gold producing mines in the Porcupine country.
