Thunder Bay District
Ontario Highway 11 Homepage

Vast and sparsely populated, the part of Highway 11 that runs through Thunder Bay has some of the most scenic drives and majestic lookouts across Ontario, with waterfalls, geologic formations, and numerous lakes, rivers, and wetlands.

It also has northern Ontario’s largest city, Thunder Bay, which is closer to Winnipeg than it is to Timmins, North Bay, or Sudbury, let alone southern Ontario. I've also included some stops along Highway 17, the TransCanada, that run along the north shore of Lake Superior.

To continue into the Thunder Bay District start at Longlac (if you’re going west) or Kakabeka Falls (if you’re going east).
